Women from temporary housing sector grow their businesses.

As part of its sustainability policy, CRAMSA promotes the Women’s Circle Programme, seeking to develop programmes and activities that contribute positively to the quality of life of the inhabitants of the Antofagasta Region.

“I believe the support is really good, because it focuses on women who have goals such as continuing developing their own projects. My dream is to have my own event center”.

These are the words of Jeanette Gallardo from the transitional neighbourhood of Los Colonos, who emphasised the opportunity that the Women’s Circle Programme gives her to continue growing her business of event decorations and inflatable games, which she has been developing for nine years.

The initiative promotes the creation and strengthening of entrepreneurial efforts for women from various temporary housing in the North of the city of Antofagasta, in order to promote their economic independence and empowerment.

Ana Escobar, who decided to start a furniture and home accessories factory, said that the activity “has helped us to see how we should manage our business in order to move forward successfully”. The entrepreneur added that “this opportunity opens many doors for us to grow, even to open sources of work where I live, so it is also a help for all the neighbours in my community”.

The women entrepreneurs presented their projects to a committee of experts where they were able to show their progress, as part of the various actions and learning spaces that the Circle of Women programme promotes.
